woah I really haven't updated in almost 2 months

uuuh, Chemistry has sucked a significant portion of life out of me, with my parents being the other part. But it's okay! I still love both, and will continue to embrace them openly like Barney embracing his two gay T-rex fathers (can I say that?).

All vulgarities aside, not a whole lot is that new. I, however, DID get a new hard drive enclosure, which ROCKS (although I will admit it's a little large, but it came w/ HDD brackets which make up for it):

It's utility factor is high with not only solid design (As it can fit both 3.5" HDD's but also works as an IDE drive bay for CDRW or DVD drives), but also, it has a fan, so it actually keeps your drive cool and functional. I am replacing my grey 10 buck enclosure because it's been acting funny for the following reasons:
1) it was $10
2) it hugged the hard drive, and was aluminum, which allowed the drive to diffuse heat, but at the same time, my 250 GB drive gets SO hot when I'm leaving it on for multiple days.
3) the power supply seemed lacking: when turning on the drive, it would spin up mostly, then die... I was afriad it would go click of death on me and I would lose ~150 gb of precious data. Fortunately, no such problems occured, and my drive would just be tempermental from time to time, which still pisses me off and hurts the drive. So I have the Thermaltake instead, which is a great piece of hardware.

As long as we're *actually* making a technophilic post, I would also like to remark on the following which I hope to purchase if I can procure the proper funds:

- this not only will allow me to use my laptop as a dvd player with proper surroundsound (as the sound card will give it 7.1 digital output), but also since it has an optical out plug, hooking this up to my stereo will give me the supreme college stereo surroundsound and completing my stereo setup, which is PHAT.

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16824163126
-having another monitor will make me more productive when I am doing work, which is what I'm going right now @ home w/ my old 15' CRT. However, it would be nice to have that flexibility @ school.

creme of the crop:
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16824116260
-a projector would honestly complete THE ULTIMATE COLLEGE DORM as for as I'm concerned. Now, I'm sure people may think "well, you're never getting your work done." My rebuttle to this is that I don't and can't get work done @ home, so I'll still probably spend about 70% of my time in the library, meaning that although I may have this awesome setup, I may not be able to enjoy it as often as some people might start buggin me about. But, understandably, it's their problem. But it's so nice whn you have that option, no?

Plus, as long as everything is treated well, it'll last, which means I can keep this setup through the time when I have an apartment. Plus, I told tex I'd try to procure a projector this summer, and it would be nice if that could happen. We already have a futon, which means we can watch movies, play video games, or just see awesome music visualizers on A 10 FOOT SCREEN. MUAHAHAHAHHA! I'm also kind of curious since I have my bluetooth mouse and keyboard, what it would be like to chill on the futon, with mouse/keyboard on hand, and just do work on my computer w/ a BIGASS screen. By aquiring such technology and capability, it may allow for freer use of the computer, as well as greater comfort.

mmmmm... comfort... or am I being too self-indulgent?
